Duferco La Louvière
Produits Longs produces slabs, billets and wire rod.
The production site Trebos, at Tildonk (near Brussels),
is a specialist in drawn steel.
The factory manufactures
billets
for processing into
wire rod,
from 5,5 mm to 17 mm in round section.
Major investments have been undertaken and a new
investment program has been agreed for the next years. The Group is constantly improving product quality and
flexibility of its organization while maintaining a
competitive cost base.
News
The steelshop at La Louvière has installed a vacuum
degasser. Goals: increase the annual capacity of the
site and execute its strategy for niche markets with high
added value.
History
1999: Duferco acquires the steel works site at La Louvière, formerly Usines Gustave BOEL-HOOGOVENS - Gustave Boël. At the same time, the Group confirmed its commitment to and development in Belgium and pursued its strategy of building an integrated system to have access to rolling units close to its slab production site in Charleroi, which has now become Carsid.
